The exhibition Internality at SPOT Gallery presents a selection of Czech and Slovak artists across generations whose works are united by a personal statement and an emphasis on introspective experience. The works on display reflect on issues of self-identity, physicality, relationships, sexuality, loss and family roots. These themes have been a long-standing source of creativity for the artists. They use them as authentic tools for learning about themselves and the world around them. The exhibition thus becomes a meeting place for different forms of intimacy that enter into unexpected and layered dialogues. Here, individual statements resonate with each other and create a focused whole. The artists' work ranges across a variety of media - from painting, drawing and printmaking to multimedia objects and glass work.
