Jakub Spaňhel

Jakub Špaňhel was born in 1976. He studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague in the studio of Jiří David and Milan Knížák. His extraordinary talent soon began to attract attention already at his studies in Ostrava and continued at AVU in Prague.

He is a well-known leading representative of contemporary Czech painting. His expressive-realistic canvases deal with a wide range of traditional themes and are characterized by dynamic structure and distinctive colors. The spaniel has participated in many important shows and has many independent exhibitions.

He uses a variety of painting techniques, but his work often involves large-scale canvases and expressive renderings of subjects. His works are represented in the collections of many prestigious public institutions and private entities.
