Veronika Bromová

Veronika Šrek Bromová is an intermedia artist who combines photography, installation, performance, and digital media in her work. She studied at the Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design in Prague in Jiří Šalamoun's studio, graduating in 1993. She deals with themes of physicality, identity, spirituality, and the relationship between humans and technology and nature. She typically works with self-portraits and digital image manipulation. In 1999, she represented the Czech Republic at the Venice Biennale, was twice a finalist for the Jindřich Chalupecký Award, and has completed a number of residencies abroad. She was head of the New Media Studio at the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague and currently teaches at Anglo-American University in Prague. She is the founder of Galerie Kabinet Chaos, which she runs on a farm near Polička.
